News reporter: Out of all places, why did you decide to go to New York City when you ran away from Pensley? Holden: I chose NYC because that’s my home and i’m quite familiar with the city and the people so it would be easy for me to get around and all. News reporter: Why did you stop trying in school? Holden: I just saw no point of it and I hate the people and the school in general. Everyone there are morons and the teachers suck. The way the teacher’s taught didn’t really help me and the things that I was learning was pointless for life. News reporter: Why was it so hard for you to get along with your roommates/class mates? Holden: Im honestly not much of a people person and my room mate is a total asshole. He’s such a moron and is so stupid. He’s so stubborn and is never considerate. Like, the one time where he hit me and I started bleeding? He stopped hitting me because he was scared that he was gonna kill me. Like, he just wanted to prove to me that he was stronger than me by hitting me but he’s weak since he didn’t keep going. Dumbass. News reporter: What’s your relationship like with your sister Phoebe? Holden: I love my sister and I feel like next to Allie, I have the closest relationship with her than any of my siblings. News reporter: Is that why you wanted to say good bye to her before you wanted to take off to the west? Holden: Yes, because out of all the people that’s in my life, she’s the one that i’d miss the most. News reporter: What’s with this Jane girl? Holden: Jane... hmmm, what to say about her. Well, she’s a childhood friend and she understands me more than most people. My feelings for her is kind of complicated because sometimes, I see her as a friend and sometimes, these feelings in my stomach, it’s kind of like warm and fuzzy, and then I want to do things to her, it’s crazy and kind of confusing. News reporter: How did Phoebe change your mind into moving? Holden: I don’t know, when I spent half the day with her and I realized that there’s more to life than going west where there is no phoebe.
